Tamil remake of Maheshinte Prathikaram is rolling. Priyadarshan is directing the Tamil version with Udhayanidhi Stalin in lead. The untitled project is produced by Santosh T Kurvilla under the banner ‘Moonshot Entertainment’. The film also has Parvathy Nair, Namita Pramod, Mahendran, Samuthrakani, Karunakaran, and MS Baskar in the cast. Samuthrakani pens the dialogues of the film as well. Music will be scored by Darbuka Siva.
Maheshinte Prathikaaram directed by Dileesh Pothan was well received by audience and critics. The went on to win 2 National Awards as well apart from numerous State and Filmfare awards. The film tells the story of Mahesh Bhavana, a small-time photographer living with his father, who attempts to defuse a conflict between Crispin, Artist Baby and three unknown youngsters, and is knocked to the ground. Unable to fight back, he is embarrassed in front of his village people. Mahesh publicly vows that he will not wear his slippers again until he has avenged the humiliation. It is also a love story. Maheshinte Prathikaram was told with the mix of good realistic humor.
